Photovoltaics on the roof: the participation criteria – Who will get a 60% subsidy

Share

Without income criteria is expected to run the long-awaited program for photovoltaics on the roof. The most likely scenario says that the selection of beneficiaries will be prioritized according to the ExoEconomy , with the aim of energy savings .

As explained by expert analysts, it seems that the income criteria system in the "Recycle - Change Appliance" model cannot be promoted. This is due to the fact that the investment required is considerable.

Previous experience from the "Recycling - Appliance Exchange" programme showed that even for electrical appliances, some people got the voucher to exchange their old appliances, but when the time came, they did not have the money to go through the process. So many applications were left pending.

Thus it is estimated that the most likely scenario is that the selection of beneficiaries will be made on the basis of beneficiary prioritization.

Subsidy and the "Execonomo" model

The subsidy is expected to be in the range of 30% - 40%. For those who choose to combine the photovoltaic with an energy storage battery, the subsidy will get an additional bonus as it is expected to increase to 60%, covering a larger part of the total investment cost.

At the Ministry of Energy, preparations are feverish and the guide of the new program, which thousands of households and businesses are waiting for, should be expected -according to reports- at the beginning of 2023, most likely, if not by the end of the year.

The perimeter of beneficiaries opens for Photovoltaics

In fact, according to well-informed sources, it is not excluded that the number of beneficiaries will gradually increase to more than 250,000, depending on the needs of the beneficiaries who will join the programme.

In principle, the program will open for 250,000 potential beneficiaries. It will subsidises the installation of photovoltaic systems up to 10kW in roofing housing, business and in agricultural holdings . This does not mean, however, that all beneficiaries will install a 10kW photovoltaic system.

The procedure is expected to provide for the involvement of an energy inspector at the initial stage. The inspector will determine the required capacity based on the needs of each household and business.

As explained by energy analysts it is estimated that the needs of an average household are covered with a power close to 6kW. The PV programme is structured with subsidies for 250,000 10kW units. Thus it is estimated that as the programme runs, additional room for subsidies will gradually emerge for more beneficiaries from the kW "left over".

That is, given that the programme covers potentially photovoltaic systems with a total capacity of 2,5 million kW and the implementation of the programme shows that of the 250,000 beneficiaries 1.5 - 2 million kW enter the programme, the programme will be opened in a second year for other beneficiaries.

Of the 250,000 licences announced by the government:

  • 100.000 will be for domestic use
  • 75,000 in professional housing and
  • 75,000 on an agricultural holding
