OAED: Applications for training with paid internships open

Applications for training with paid internships open from today Wednesday 4 August after 16:00 for admission to the Vocational Schools (EPAS) Apprenticeship of the Public Employment Service. The applications are submitted for the school year 2021/22 and concern 33 specialties with high demand in the labour market and the deadline for submission is 15 September.

Those born in the years 1998-2006 and holding at least a High School Diploma are eligible to apply. Applications are submitted exclusively online via gov.gr using the TAXISnet codes at the following address: https://www.gov.gr/ipiresies/ekpaideuse/eggraphe-se-skholeio/eggraphe-se-epaggelmatike-skhole-epas-tou-oaed .

Specifically, the route is: gov.gr → Education →Enrollment in a school →Enrollment in a Vocational School (EPAS) of OAED

As mentioned in the relevant announcement, OAED has been implementing since 1952 the Apprenticeship system, which is the only dual system in our country, which combines theoretical and laboratory vocational training at the School with practical training in real working conditions (on-the-job-training). The aim is for the trainee to acquire the necessary theoretical knowledge and professional experience in the labor market. The students of EPA.S. in the morning they carry out Apprenticeships in companies of the private or public sector in positions related to their specialty, while in the afternoon they attend theoretical and laboratory courses at the School.

The students' remuneration corresponds to 21.78 euros for each day of practical training for 2 years (four semesters). There are 50 EPA.S operating nationwide. OAED apprenticeships offering studies in 33 specialties.

The students of EPA.S. OAED apprenticeship:

  • They carry out internships with remuneration and insurance
  • Study in modern and fully equipped laboratories
  • They are provided with the necessary books and aids
  • They are trained by experienced and well-trained educational staff
  • They are entitled to paid student leave of up to 30 days
  • They are entitled to deferment of conscription
  • Eligible persons receive housing and food allowance
