Within the next period is expected to be published by the OAED, business grant program for support for unemployed people aged 18-29 years . Emphasis will be given to graduates of higher education in the university and technological sector.
The program was approved by the last board of OAED and is expected to be announced in the coming months. Based on this, 15,000 full-time jobs in the private and social sectors will be filled over a period of at least 15 months. According to the Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry, businesses will be subsidized for part of the wage and non-wage costs of new hires. The duration of the grant will be longer if they hire long-term unemployed and beneficiaries Social Income Allowance η Solidarity Income (EL) .
The program will start with 10,000 seats. The distribution between tertiary education graduates and other unemployed young people will be specified in the public call. The remaining 5,000 places will be advertised in a second year.
The program is addressed to private enterprises, Social and Solidarity Economy (SSE) bodies and generally private sector employers who regularly carry out economic activity throughout the country. A prerequisite for the inclusion of a business in the program is that it has not reduced its staff during the three months prior to the submission of the application for funding.
Beneficiaries of the program to support the unemployed are:
- Unemployed, with a focus on graduates of higher education institutions in the university and technology sector aged 18-29. They must have been registered in the unemployment register of the OAED for a period of at least three (3) months prior to their nomination by the competent KPA2.
- Long-term unemployed, with emphasis on graduates of higher education institutions in the university and technological sector aged 18-29. Yes, they must be registered in the unemployment register of OAED for a period of at least 12 months until their nomination by the competent FMC2.
- Unemployed, with emphasis on graduates of higher education institutions in the university and technological sector aged 18-29. They may be registered in the unemployment register of OAED for a period of at least one (1) day before their nomination by the competent FMC2, but they must be beneficiaries of the Social Solidarity Income (KEA).
The unemployed should have completed the personalised approach form and agreed on an Individual Action Plan.
The total duration of the project grant is defined as follows:
a) Twelve months for the recruitment of unemployed persons aged 18-29, who are registered in the unemployment register of OAED for a period of 3 to 12 months. After the end of the grant, businesses commit to retain their staff (pre-existing and subsidized) for an additional 3 months without a grant.
b) Fifteen months for the recruitment of long-term unemployed and CRL beneficiaries, without a commitment to retain staff after the end of the grant.
The grant amount is set at 50% of the monthly salary and non-wage costs of the beneficiary. The maximum is €400 per month for young people up to 25 years old and €500 for young people over 25.
