Ministry of Digital Governance: Provision of free online courses in collaboration with Oracle Greece

Now available to the public are online training courses for advanced and specialized digital skills, which are available for free from Ministry of Digital Governance, based on the recent conclusion of a memorandum of cooperation with the technology company Oracle Greece.

The citizens residing in Greece have access to the educational platform through the website of National Alliance for Digital Skills and Employment and can attend the courses of their choice in the educational environment of Oracle University. The platform offers 16 thematic modules with a total duration of more than 400 hours of asynchronous education (on demand). The training modules cover innovative technologies such as cloud computing, Artificial Intelligence, mobile application development, etc.

As the Ministry of Digital Governance states in its announcement, the courses will be renewed during the three-year collaboration and after the successful completion of the training, the trainee will be able to obtain relevant certification by participating in exams. Greece is the first country in the European Union to collaborate with Oracle to provide free training courses in specialized skills to its citizens, in the context of the initiatives of the National Alliance for Digital Skills and Employment under the General Secretariat of Information Systems and Digital Governance.

The videotaped educational material includes accessibility features such as the ability to activate Greek subtitles (cc icon) and the Transcript function, which improve the user experience and the level of understanding of the educational content.

This initiative is part of the wider planning to achieve the objectives of the EU Digital Decade, in terms of the development and improvement of digital skills and in particular for the training of 20 million specialists Information Technologies and Communications (ICT) in the European Union until 2030.
