Ministry of the Interior: Amendment of the “Improving the energy efficiency of tertiary sector enterprises” program

The Program Guide “Improving the energy efficiency of companies in the tertiary sector” is amended, by Decision of the Minister of Environment and Energy, Mr. Thodoros Skylakakis, the Deputy Minister of National Economy and Finance, Mr. Nikos Papathanasis and the Deputy Minister of Environment and Energy, Mrs. Alexandra Sdoku.

First, the program, totaling 176.75 million euros, will remain open for submission of applications until the budget is exhausted (from May 15, 2024, which was the deadline for submission). The modifications of the Guide also include the following:

  1. The requirement to upgrade by at least two energy categories is abolished, while the obligation to reduce emitted pollutants (CO2) by at least 35% and to save primary energy by at least 40% remains.
  2. For investment projects with a budget of up to 150,000 euros for the sector of tourism and up to 80,000 euros for the sectors of commerce and of the other services, in the event that at the time of submission of the application the PEA of the building/s included in the plan or the Energy Audit Report has not been issued, an exclusive period of one month is given from the submission of the application for the its presentation and the above are declared with a Responsible Declaration.
  3. After the available budget is exhausted, the remaining definitively submitted applications remain in the system as runners-up, based on the timestamp they received when they were submitted.

Upon completion of the application period, the possibility to submit an application ceases (timestamping and application code rendering).

Applications that have not committed resources based on the above and within the time priority, remain in the Information System as runners-up. In any case, for submitted applications, the procedure for submitting PEA and other checks is still valid.

The above changes are integrated into the Application Information System. It is reminded that applications are submitted through the program’s electronic platform: https://exoikonomoepixeiro.energy-invest.gov.gr/ and the direct evaluation method is applied (First in-First out).
