Share

Aiming to create career opportunities for young women who wish to work in STEM professions and the empowerment of women in the technology sector in general, WIND announces the new action entitled Women In Tech. The new action is part of the "W for Women" initiative.

More specifically, the Women in Tech programme offers 10 female graduates or final-year students of polytechnic and technological schools a fully paid internship of six months' duration. Through the internship, the participants will work with established WIND executives from different departments of the company. At the same time, they will participate in real projects and gain valuable experience. At the end of the internship they will have gone from theory to practice. In this way, they will upgrade their skills, having a very good basis to continue their professional career in the field of technology.

This initiative is also supported by the academic community of our country

Characteristically, the Rector of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) Professor Andreas Boudouvis stated: "Enhancing the participation of women in the labour market, which is linked to the high-tech sector and their emergence in its staff, is a major challenge. Academia through education and productive sectors through integration can make a decisive contribution to the creation of a perception. A perception that eliminates gender stereotypes and highlights the value and skills of each member of society. It is optimistic to see actions to empower women in the STEM professional field. We support the Women In Tech program of WIND Hellas. It is an excellent initiative for ntua students to prove their worth and potential to the professional world".

The Women In Tech program is part of WIND's broader policy on Diversity and Inclusion in the workplace, which is based on an environment of respect and acceptance for all, with equal opportunities, without discrimination and stereotypes. Speaking about WIND Hellas' commitment, Gerasimos Karmiris, Human Resources Executive Director, noted: "Women's equal access to the labor market and their empowerment in the work environment, especially in the technology sector, requires a framework of holistic approach actions. With the Women in Tech programme, we are undertaking an important initiative, implemented in collaboration with the academic community. The aim is to contribute to closing the gender gap in STEM professions. The challenges of the new digital era create significant career opportunities. WIND ensures the unhindered access of all to them".
