Tech Academies by ManpowerGroup Greece for upskilling in STEM

ManpowerGroup Greece, a provider of integrated human resources solutions, contributing steadily to the upgrading of candidates' skills for STEM industries, announces the establishment of Tech Academies.

This decision matured at a critical juncture for the market. According to ManpowerGroup's Annual International Talent Shortage Survey 2023, 81% of Greek employers state that they don't find skilled talent. At the level of technical skills, 23% report that they lack IT/Data skills. Another reason that contributed to the decision to establish the Tech Academies is the fact that industry leaders are exploring innovative solutions to address this challenge. Rather than hiring or looking for solutions in potentially qualified human resources, they start to build it themselves.

In response to this growing need, ManpowerGroup Greece has built Tech Academies. A fast-paced, demanding (3 months) Technology Skills Training Program created to help organizations struggling with the current talent shortage. The programme is tailored to the business needs of recent graduates of technology schools.

Through an intensive university-level program, under the supervision of professors from international universities, Tech Academies create Software Engineers ready to join any team and become immediately productive, leaving the process of upskilling & Mentoring to the Tech Academies team.

The first graduation of the Tech Academies

The first candidates to graduate from the Academy in NET and Java roles have recently graduated. On graduation day, the graduates made presentations of their final projects, in this case the creation of an app to companies/clients of ManpowerGroup Greece.

On the occasion of the launch of the Tech Academies , the CEO of ManpowerGroup Greece, Mr. Charalambos Kazantzidis said: "At ManpowerGroup Greece we feel very proud of the creation of the Tech Academies that further establish us as a trusted and powerful HR solutions provider that focuses on training and education. With the expertise of the parent company and the "air" of proven success with leading international companies, ManpowerGroup Greece provides a reliable solution for the upgrading the skills of candidates in the STEM sector. At the same time, this new initiative will accelerate the development of theour clients' ability to acquire new talents ready to reach their maximum performance".

According to Mr. Panos Kopsavitis, Digital BU Manager (Recruitment & Academies), responsible for the Tech Academies project, the comparative advantage for businesses is that the Academies are practically a long-term investment. An investment designed to continuously fill the gap of talent shortage, based on the needs of each client. They give employers the advantage of saving time and money, reduce the pressure for higher wages, create new opportunities and expand the tech talent pool.
