Countdown has begun for the payment of the emergency aid of 400 euros to 155,000 long-term unemployed. Yesterday, the relevant Ministerial Decision of Mr. Yannis Vroutsis was issued, in accordance with the announcement of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis the day before yesterday, which clarifies that this action concerns about 155,000 unemployed people who acquired the status of long-term unemployed from 1.4.2019 onwards and remain to this day registered in the Public Employment Service.
The cost of this action is provided for in the 65 million euros which will be covered by the OAED budget, states in the Press Release issued by the Minister.
Procedure for the payment of emergency aid to long-term unemployed persons by the OAED
In yesterday's press release, the OAED also points out that, as far as the payment method of 400 euros is concerned, it will be completed automatically, through direct deposit to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries.
- For those long-term unemployed who have bank account details (IBAN) registered with the OAED from previous transactions (such as subsidies, benefits, aids, participation in community service programs, etc.) and do not want to update their data, they should not take any action.
- For those long-term unemployed who have bank account details (IBAN) registered with the OAED from previous transactions and want to update their details, they will register their details within a certain deadline in a special electronic platform that will operate in the immediate future.
- For those who do not have bank account details (IBAN) registered with the OAED from previous transactions, they will register their details within a certain period of time on a special electronic platform that will operate in the immediate future.
More information on the procedures for the payment of the emergency financial aid will be announced after the publication of the Joint Ministerial Decision.
It is reminded that the extraordinary financial support is tax-free, non-deductible and is not counted in the income limits for the payment of any benefit of a social or welfare nature.
