By decision of the Minister of Labour and Social Affairs , κ. Costis Hatzidakis declared mandatory the addition to the Sectoral Collective Labour Agreement (CSCA) regarding the working time agreed and signed by the catering sector, i.e. the representatives of workers and employers of the catering sector .

The Supreme Labour Council met on Monday 01-08-2022 under the chairmanship of the Secretary General of Labour Relations of the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, Anna Stratinaki. He then gave a positive opinion to the Minister of Labour and Social Affairs.

The addition to the 'KSSE', agreed by both sides, reiterates that:

"A five-day working week with 40 hours of work and two rest days is established in all shops."

At the same time, it also provides that:

«Employees subject to this, If they work on their rest days, they receive additional pay and in particular compensation equal to one daily wage for each rest day worked, to be paid increased by 75 % if employment on a rest day take place on a Sunday or on a day a holiday established by labor law.

The food service industry shall provide that employment on rest days, if incurred and performed, shall increase the monthly earnings and the insured pay due of employees worked as aforesaid and shall operate for the benefit of such employees. In no case, therefore, their possible work during these days a system of five-day work cannot be regarded as a mere individual infringement of the five-day work week system. - which is still in force - since in which case this is done due to seasonality and increased workload of the stores subject to the present and not intentionally, the agreement of the parties to the non-observance of the agreed five-day period is desired".

The "KSSE" of the sector for the period from 22-02-2021 to 22-02-2023 has already been declared mandatory by a decision of Mr. Hatzidakis.

The addition was agreed by:
  • the Panhellenic Federation of Food and Tourism Workers
