Job Retention Program in seasonal hotel businesses

Posted by OAED the new Job Retention Programme in hotel businesses that operate seasonally. The winter period is subsidised, namely from 1 November 2017 to 28 February 2018.

The cost of implementing the programme will be covered by the OAED budget. The maximum expenditure will amount to a total of EUR 1.000.000,00 for the year 2018.

Businesses Eligible for the Job Retention Program

All types of hotel businesses can be included in the job retention program, provided that they cumulatively meet the following conditions:

A) Hotel enterprises and/or hotel units, which will apply for inclusion in the program and operate outside the Administrative Region of Attica (except the Regional Unit of Islands) and the Urban Complex of the city of Thessaloniki.

B) have a valid EOT operating license.

C) They are seasonal, they had ceased their continuous operation for at least two years, during the previous five years (2012-2016). Specifically, the period from November 1st to February 28th, except if they participated in at least one of the previous job retention programmes for the winter period or are new hotel businesses (i.e. they started operating from January 1, 2016 onwards), so they must have ceased their continuous operation in the previous year (2016) before November 1.

Hotel businesses that started operating from November 1, 2016 onwards, are not subsidized.

Employees Included in the Job Retention Program

Beneficiaries are those hotel employees who are entitled to regular unemployment benefit at the beginning of the extension period, i.e. on 1-11-2017.

The beneficiary hotel employees should be employed on the day before the start of the extension (1-11-2017), i.e. on 31-10-2017.

It is not possible to include hotel employees in the program who before November 1, 2016 had continuous twelve-month employment in the same and / or another hotel business.

It is not possible to include hotel employees in the program who were not employed on 31-10-2017.

Submissions

The interested hotel business or hotel unit must submit electronically an application for inclusion in the FMC2 under whose jurisdiction it belongs. Applications are submitted from 23-01 2018 at 11 am to 23-03-2018 at 12 noon on the OAED website www.oaed.gr, in the field of registration of electronic applications.
