Το πρόγραμμα «Ανοικτής Καινοτομίας THE DIGITAL GATE IV: The Airport Innovation Challenge» του Διεθνούς Αερολιμένα Αθηνών (ΔΑΑ) ξεκινά για τέταρτη φορά, σε συνεργασία με το Κέντρο Επιχειρηματικότητας και Καινοτομίας (ACEin) του Οικονομικού Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών (ΟΠΑ), looking for the best proposals and applications for new digital services and business activities, with the possibility of implementation in the real environment of the airport.

By giving young people the opportunity to develop skills in designing and developing innovative services, the Athens Airport competition aims to encourage digital innovation and Greek entrepreneurship in the field of aviation and tourism.

The program is looking for young talented individuals, scientists, students, researchers, PhD candidates with a strong technological - and not only - background who are interested in joining a new team and facing significant challenges that concern the airport community, developing new ideas and proposals and utilizing cutting-edge technologies. This year's "challenges" focus on the following areas:

• Improvement of airport procedures
• Improve the traveller experience
• New innovative services for the airport's shopping centre (Retail Management)
• New innovative services for airport security and crisis management
• Creation of a "green" airport and improvement of energy efficiency
• Creation of a "smart" airport, Big Data and digital technology innovations

Participants in the program can claim:

• Support from AIA for the implementation of the prototype of the service with the participation of specialized executives and mentors
• Support in the form of coaching services and hospitality infrastructure by the Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (ACEin) of the Athens University of Economics and Business for the further development of innovative business models
• Funding to implement their prototype (MVP) on the airport premises
