GreenTecLab – GreenTech Challenge: Support Programme for innovative ideas for Blue Growth

A new thematic category, oriented towards blue growth, createsfor the first time in the framework of the green innovative ideas competition, the GreenTech Challenge by ESU NTUA in collaboration with GreenTecLab and the support - in Greece - of the Greek-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The competition is held under the scientific responsibility of the Department of Economic Environment and Sustainable Development of Mechanical Engineering NTUA and innovation enabler, Mantis Business Innovation.

GreenTech Challenge

The GreenTech Challenge is active in eight themes. It is divided into the first phase, which concerns information and training on how to develop an innovative idea (bootcamp training). In the second phase, the competition process takes place through live pitching.

GreenTecLab

GreenTecLab is a project aimed at empowering start-ups for climate protection. It is funded by the European Climate Protection Initiative (EUKI) of the Federal Ministry of the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety. The coordinator of the project is Fiap e.V and its partners are the University of Cadiz, the University of Seville, the City Hall of Cadiz, Pedal-Consulting from Slovakia. From Greece, the partner is the Greek-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry. It is noted that in Greece, the GreenTecLab project is under the auspices of the Ministry of Environment and Energy.

On October 5, at the GreenTec Symbosium 2021 event, in Eleusis, the collaboration of the two actions was announced. In fact, the announcement was also the start of this year's competition, which will take place on December 11 and 12. Before the competition, various trainings are scheduled, the so-called bootcamp trainings, which will take place on November 10 and 24.

Blue Growth

Blue Growth is a long-term strategy for the sustainable development of the maritime and shipping sector. It is an integrated policy to achieve the Europe 2020 objectives of smart, sustainable and inclusive growth. The policies contained therein seek to exploit marine resources through innovative actions. Actions that will contribute to the European economy and prosperity.
