This concerns the time limit for the beneficiaries for the implementation of the interventions in program. Η extension for the Save-It-Autonomo, which will be the last one, is deemed necessary for the completion of the work by the beneficiaries.

For the 2021/30 decade, including the ongoing Energy Efficiency 2021 programme, the target set for the 2021/30 decade alone is energy upgrade of buildings provides for investments of €7.9 billion. euros.

According to the proposal of the Ministry of Environment and Energy (MEE) for the revision of the NESEK, which was presented last Wednesday, the investments for households through the ExoEconomy type programmes and other actions will amount to €642 million/year for the period 2021/25. While for the period 2026/30 the amount will rise to €935 million per year..

The changes

Indeed, as stated by the Minister Mr. Kostas Skrekas, in response to journalists' questions, the guides for the much-awaited ExoEconomy - Entrepreneur and ExoEconomy for young people (for ages 18-39) will be published within the first quarter of the year, so that the platforms can be opened. As for the next Exoikonomo for energy upgrading of housing is estimated to will be launched in the spring. However, it is noteworthy that in the current Exoikonomo many beneficiaries have not proceeded with the completion of the works as due to the energy and economic crisis, the prices of materials have skyrocketed, thus increasing the cost of the interventions. As Mr. Skrekas the funds will not be lost, but will be transferred to the next programmes.

At the same time, the programme for the replacement of energy-consuming electrical appliances is open. Many beneficiaries of the discount vouchers have not used them, especially those in the lower income brackets. That is why 140,000 runners-up were added.

Two programmes will follow up in the next period:

  • for the installation of photovoltaic panels (the guidelines are expected to be published in February) and
  • solar panels

The Ministry of the Environment in its proposal the revision of the ESRC, proposes a change in the energy efficiency index specifically for the residential sector, with a target of about 97 kWh/sq.m. (kilowatt hours per square metre) consumed in 2022 to drop to 78 kWh/sq.m. in 2030 and 54 kWh/sq.m. in 2050.

As for final household energy consumption, from 26%, i.e. 4,106 Ktoe (tonne of oil equivalent) in 2020, it is planned to drop to 24% (4,210 Ktoe) in 2025, to 22% (3,630 Ktoe) in 2030/35, to be finally reduced to 2,999 Ktoe in 2050.
