From today, 1 June, the conditions for granting insurance capacity to non-employed persons insured by the EFKA are changing.
In particular, as the EFKA reports, the requirement that there are no unpaid debts to the insurance funds in order for the insured to receive insurance capacity was abolished.
Now, non-employees will have to pay the amount corresponding to the annual contributions for 2022of the health insurance class they have chosen in order to renew their insurance capacity until 29 February 2024.
Thus, until 31 May, non-employed persons (farmers and self-employed persons) could make use of the favourable arrangement to renew their insurance capacity for the insurance year 2023.
Under this arrangement, insured persons would have to pay only last year 's health contributions or join the 24 instalment arrangement for all their debts to the fund.
It is worth noting that any 2022 payments will be deducted from the total amount of money for the health sector that insured people will have to pay in order to be insurable again.
It is reminded that those who do not have insurance capacity, due to debts, will have full access to prescription & full access to free health services of the NHS, but will not have access to services from private structures cooperating with the EOPYY .
Finally, for the long-term unemployed or workers of special categories, the insurance eligibility has been extended until 29/2/2024.
