The Programme consists in providing incentives for energy saving interventions and strengthening energy autonomy in the residential building sector, aiming at reducing energy needs and the consumption of conventional fuels, in the context of the transition to a "Smart Home".
Budget of the Economize - Autonomo Programme:
The total budget of the programme is 896,75 million euro. The total public expenditure of the Programme amounts to 692 million euros from the ERDF (of which €92 million of the budget is from the ExoEconomy II Fund), €34 million from the national MFF and €170.75 million from the CIPs.
The Action is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) of the European Union and national resources.
Beneficiaries of the programme:
Only natural persons who have the right of ownership (full or partial) or usufruct in an eligible residence are eligible to participate in the Programme.
Especially in cases where the residence for which the application is made, during the 2019 tax year, is rented/available for short-term rental or is vacant, as well as for the recent acquisition of a property, only the full owner or usufructuary is eligible to participate in the Programme.
The Programme includes five (5) categories of incentives, in which the beneficiaries are included depending on their income and are described in detail in the Guide for the implementation of the Action.
For multifamily applications, the grant rate is independent of the income of the apartment owners participating in the Program
Eligible Houses in the Energy Efficiency - Autonomy Action:
There are three (3) distinct types of applications, one (1) for individual apartments or single-family homes and two (2) for multi-family homes.
- Application for an Individual Apartment or Single-Family House

- Application for Type B Apartment Building
Please note that under no circumstances are properties in the building that are not used for residential purposes (e.g. a shop on the ground floor of a building) eligible.

- Exists legally
- It has not been deemed demolishable
- Used as main residence
- It has been classified on the basis of the Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) in a category lower or equal to C
It should be noted that due to the electronic cross-checks of the residence data entered in the application form with the corresponding data declared to the tax authority, it is necessary in the tenant's income tax return (E1), or (if there is a lease of the main residence) in the detailed statement for rents of immovable property (E2), and in the declaration of real estate data (E9) include the electricity supply number of the property.
Subsidised Interventions:
Eligible for the "Εξοικονομώ-Αυτονομώ" Programme are the costs related to works that will be carried out after the issuance of the first Energy Performance Certificate (EPC). This EPC should have been issued based on the new framework for the Energy Performance of Buildings Regulation (DEPEA/oik. 178581, Government Gazette B 2367/12.07.2017) and should therefore be dated later than 26.11.2017.
The interventions, submitted with the application for inclusion in the Programme, are based on the recommendations of the Energy Inspector and relate exclusively to the following categories of eligible interventions:
