Digital work card: Incentives for businesses for voluntary implementation

Share

Incentives for businesses that voluntarily implement the digital working card earlier will be adopted by the Ministry of Labour .

According to reports, the Ministry of Labor is promoting the abolition of the posting in "Ergani" of a number of forms, including the announcement of overtime as an incentive for small businesses that adopt the digital work card. The aim is to avoid bureaucracy, as the digital card will allow the actual working hours of employees to be reflected in real time in the "Ergani" system.

Digital work card - The advantages

"The digital job card should be implemented everywhere," Labour Minister Mr. Ad. Georgiadis This is because it is the "shield" for the defence of workers' rights.

Referring to the advantages of the digital card, Mr. Georgiades notes that the recording of overtime is done in real time. In contrast, with the system of prior notice - which is currently in force - the burden of the declaration is on the company and it is possible that for various reasons this schedule will not be followed and then there will be errors and corrections.

The ministry therefore supports the decision of companies to opt for the digital work card, so that all employees' working time is recorded to the nearest second, so that overtime is paid in full.

The bill

It should be noted that the use of the digital card is mandatory. But its implementation requires time and adaptation of business sectors to the new reality.

For this reason, in the bill that the Ministry of Labour will bring to the Parliament during the summer, incentives - mainly of a bureaucratic type - will be introduced for companies that voluntarily implement the card before their turn comes.
