On Monday, 23 August 2021 at 13:00, applications from businesses for the creation of 4,700 new jobs through the second round of the employment programme for unemployed people aged 30 years and over in the less developed regions of the country. Macedonia and Thrace, Western Greece, Epirus, Thessaly and Central Macedonia. According to the OAED's announcement, this programme places particular emphasis on the long-term unemployed and the unemployed aged 50 and over.
Budget
The total budget of the program for the creation of 4,700 new jobs amounts to 44,000,000 euros and is co-funded by the European Social Fund and Greece, through the Operational Program "Human Resources Development, Education and Lifelong Learning 2014-2020".
Target
The purpose of the action is to promote employment, especially for the long-term unemployed and the unemployed of older ages whose long-term unemployment makes it difficult for them to reintegrate into the labor market.
Who it concerns job creation
The programme to create 4,700 new jobs is aimed at private companies. The duration of the grant is 12 months. The amounts of the monthly salary subsidy and insurance contributions for hiring unemployed people in new full-time positions are as follows:
- €473.50 for the unemployed up to 49 years old
- EUR 568,20 for the unemployed aged over 50
- EUR 615,55 for the long-term unemployed
- EUR 710,25 for the long-term unemployed aged over 50
The subsidization of wage and non-wage costs includes the corresponding Christmas and Easter gifts and holiday allowances.
As pointed out in the OAED (public employment service) announcement, there is no commitment to employment after the end of the program to create 4,700 new jobs. Simplified and faster procedures for the integration and repayment of businesses have also been provided for.
