The European Commission approved the first in the European Union Program with funding from the European Social Fund (ESF+) of the new programming period 2021/27 and at the same time the largest in budget Program of the NSRF 2021/27 entitled "Human Resources & Social Cohesion 2021-2027", public expenditure of 4.16 billion euros of which 3.3 billion euros come from resources of the European Social Fund (ESF+) and the remainder is a national contribution.

The Programme will support the country's human resources and especially where increased needs are identified, serving national strategies and priorities in the fields of employment, education and social fields, as well as the policies of the European Pillar of Social Rights. The main goal is to contribute decisively in the coming years to the reduction of unemployment and especially of young people, women and vulnerable groups of the population, as well as to the upgrading of the quality of educational work at all levels of education, to enhance skills by the school / student / student population.

Priorities

The strategy of the "Human Resources & Social Cohesion 2021-2027" Programme is based on the following priorities:

Το νέο Πρόγραμμα ΕΣΠΑ δίνει έμφαση σε δράσεις ειδικά για τους νέους έως 29 ετών που βρίσκονται εκτός απασχόλησης, εκπαίδευσης και κατάρτισης. The budget amounts to 1 billion euro. The new NSRF Program includes innovations aimed at simplifications, acceleration of implementation and timely planning. The invitations will be made with wide information of the citizens and beneficiaries. They will be fewer in number and larger in budget (open calls). Finally, for the first time it is planned to the possibility of developing a financial instrument through the European Social Fund in the fields of social innovation, social economy and social entrepreneurship.

Indicative actions of the NSRF Program

• Extension of the opening hours of all-day kindergartens and primary schools, to facilitate the participation of parents-guardians in the labor market, to support family income and the access of all students to a free and quality school program with equal learning opportunities. (The action will start with a pilot application, initially in schools in Athens and Thessaloniki).
• Open-ended labour market integration programmes with emphasis on the long-term unemployed, women (DYPA)
• Observatory on Gender Equality and Demographic Policy
• Support of Skills Workshops for Primary and Secondary school students
• "Nannies" of the neighborhood (full development of the pilot application)
• Inclusive education for students with disabilities: adapting the education system towards the full development of inclusive education
• Programme for the teaching of Greek language and culture to beneficiaries of international protection with the aim of strengthening their integration process
• Programs to support and enhance youth entrepreneurship, with emphasis on the green, digital, and blue economy and high-growth sectors
• Operation of Professional Development & Career Offices – GEAS
• Apprenticeship support for young people up to 29 years old (EPAL post-secondary year)
• Open Program for the first integration of young people aged 18-29 into the labor market for the acquisition of work experience and the creation of new jobs in the private sector (A' stamp).
