Share

In September, the new cycle of applications for the Exoikon Economize Kat' Oikon Action is expected. The number of beneficiaries is expected to be much higher, as the Ministry of Environment & Energy is expected to reduce the income categories from seven to five.

In the new Energy Saving at Home there will be an increase in the maximum income of owners who are considered beneficiaries of the subsidies, while it is estimated that it can reach up to 70,000 euros.

3rd Cycle of Exoikon Kato' Oikon - Changes in the elements of the Action for more integrations

The budget for the third cycle of the third Exoikon Kat' Oikon cycle, due to air in the autumn, will be in the range of between EUR 350 million and EUR 400 million euros And it will be the last, at least in the form that until now applied to both the owners and the technical world.

As mentioned above, the Ministry of Environment & Energy, in an effort to include other beneficiaries, will reduce the income categories from 7 to 5 and at the same time will increase the income ceiling, with the prevailing amount being 70,000 euros. At the same time, a Bonus up to 15% in the categories with low energy classes H and Z, which are the old pre-1980 housing and will be expanded to include eligible interventions. That is, in addition to frames, heating, etc., the MINISTRY OF ENVIRONMENT is considering funding other categories such as photovoltaics, as well as other "green" tools.

However, an important intervention is also the additional subsidy rate that Megalopoli and Kozani will receive, given that they are in a transition process without dependence on lignite and the government wants to support the regions by any means.

This process concerns 55% of Greece's building stock that was built four decades ago and which are very low on the energy efficiency list and many of them have not been seismically tested. The winners will be the owners of houses built before 1980 as the Ministry of Environment and Energy works on ways to subsidize energy houses built many years ago.

Thus, incentives are expected to be given to owners to join the scheme. In turn, citizens will benefit from interventions such as, for example, changing window frames, thermal insulation, burners, etc., in order to upgrade their energy efficiency their homes.

What work will the new cycle subsidize?

  • Replacement of frames
  • Installation of shading systems
  • Installation of thermal insulation in the building envelope, including the roof and the cockpit
  • Heating system upgrade
  • Upgrade of domestic hot water supply system
