2nd Blue & Circular Economy Hackathon: On December 6-8 the marathon for the blue and circular economy
For the second consecutive year Odyssea is organizing the Blue and Circular Economy Hackathon which will take place on 06-08 December 2024 at Π55 Coworking Space, 55 Plataion, Athens 104 35. The Hackathon is implemented within the initiative RE-SAIL, with the support of the Athanassios K. Charitable Foundation. Laskaridis, which focuses on the protection of the marine environment and strengthens employment and microbusiness.
This specific Hackathon is a marathon that combines innovation and sustainability for the blue and circular economy. The blue economy includes economic activities related to the ocean, such as fisheries, marine transportation and tourism. The circular economy aims to reduce waste, promoting sustainable consumption and production.
Program of Blue and Circular Economy Hackathon
First Day | 17:00 – 21:00
Distinguished individuals from the field of the blue and circular economy will talk about the importance and impact it has on every aspect of the public sphere. Participating people will have the opportunity to discuss and at the end divide into groups in order to develop their business ideas.
Second Day | 09:00 – 20:00
Experienced mentors will provide guidance and feedback to the teams and they will be given the opportunity to participate in short workshops to gain business knowledge, with the aim of preparing their final proposals.
Third Day | 09:00 – 16:00
Teams will make final adjustments to their business idea presentations, and submit them to the event organizers. Each team will present their idea, prototype and business plan to a panel of judges who will then ask them questions. Finally, the committee will score the proposals and decide on the winning teams.
The marathon concludes with the awarding of the prizes to the winners:
- first prize, 1500 euros
- second prize, 700 euros
- third prize, 300 euros

The Hackathon is addressed to all people regardless of gender, race, nationality, or other characteristics and invites them to develop and present their innovative and entrepreneurial ideas on the blue and circular economy.
