Save – Be independent: Extension until 10/10 for the implementation of interventions

Extended, by decision of the Minister of Environment and Energy, Theodoros Skylakakis, until Tuesday, October 10, 2023, the deadline for the beneficiaries to implement interventions, within the framework of the “Save – Autonomy” program.
In the announcement of the ΙΠΕΝ it is pointed out that the previous extension was the last one that would be granted (until 15/9, with the possibility of extension until 30/9 due to force majeure), based on the commitments that exist from the financial instruments (ESPA 2014-2020 and Recovery and Resilience Fund) of the program. However, due to the recent natural disasters it was deemed necessary to extend the deadline until 10.10.2023.
The Program consists in providing incentives for energy saving interventions and strengthening energy autonomy in the residential building sector, aiming at reducing energy needs and the consumption of conventional fuels, in the context of the transition to a “Smart Home”.
Budget of the Save-Autonomous Program
The total budget of the program amounts to 896.75 million euros. The total Public Expenditure of the Program amounts to 692 million Euros from EPANEK (of which the budget of 92 million Euros refers to resources of the Execonomou II Fund), 34 million Euros from the national PDE and 170.75 million Euros from the PEP.
The Action is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) of the European Union and by national resources.Beneficiaries of the Programme
Only natural persons who have the right of ownership (full or partial) or usufruct in an eligible residence are eligible to participate in the Programme.
Especially for cases where, during the tax year 2019, the residence for which the application is made is rented/available for short-term lease or is vacant, as well as for the recent acquisition of a property, only the full owner or beneficiary has the right to participate in the Program.
The Program includes five (5) categories of incentives, in which the beneficiaries are included depending on their income and are described in detail in the Guide for the implementation of the Action.
For apartment building applications, the subsidy rate is independent of the income of the owners of the apartments participating in the Program.
