YPAAT: No risk of disenrollment of Young Farmers due to this year’s unfruitfulness

“Stop” in the scenarios that want the participants of the New Farmers program of the 3rd call (application year 2021) to withdraw from the program due to this year’s unfruitfulness in olive, which does not allow them to “catch” the projected turnover, put “circles” of the Ministry of Rural Development and Food (YPAAT).

“There is no possibility of Young Farmers disenrolling from the 3rd invitation of the program in question due to the lack of fruit in this year’s olive growing season”, report high-ranking officials of the HYPAAT.

Among the obligations that those who joined the Measure in question had to achieve turnover (turnover) at least half of the standard performance they have declared. In fact, the statement of achieving increased standard performance is a graded item.

This decision was taken in order to “protect the budget of the Measure from candidates with virtual holdings who would aim at illegal support and not the practice of agriculture, the inclusion of the measure was accompanied by increased commitments”, point out YPAAT officials.

However, this year’s severe fruitlessness makes it difficult for them to meet their standard obligations, such as having a turnover from agricultural activities at least equal to 50% of the standard entry yield to the Measure.

What do YPAAT circles indicate

“The objective of the commitment is the actual practice of agriculture and since its observance is not an end in itself, when examining the obligation, both the damage reported to ELGA and the reports of the Regional Directorates of Agricultural Economy regarding the appearance of fruitlessness or other problems in specific crops will be taken into account in order to farm plots with crops that have faced problems be exempted from the obligation proof of turnover“, underline the same executives.

At the same time, as it became known, consultation will definitely be taken into account, while the relevant instructions are expected to be issued within December.

It is worth noting that around 15,800 beneficiaries who are financed with the amount of 591 million euros were deemed eligible, with the aim of “creating real agricultural holdings by professional farmers”, note the same executives.

Finally, it should be noted that from the provisions of the measure in question all beneficiaries in Thessaly, Evia, Evros, Rhodes and Fthiotida, regions that were affected by the fires of last summer and by the floods of September, are excluded.
