The creation of a Women in Tech network in Thessaloniki in the coming period, announced the US Ambassador to Greece, George Tsounis, at the event celebrating American independence, at the Anatolia College in Thessaloniki.
"I believe that when the history of this century is written, it will not be the century of authoritarian leaders or the Internet or COVID. It will be the century of women." Tsounis announcing that "a Women in Tech network will soon start operating in Thessaloniki, to empower women and enhance their development, leadership skills and success prospects, as well as to help remove barriers and stereotypes in the specific technology sector".
Multilateral cooperation for the Women in Tech action
The US Ambassador explained that the creation of this network is the result of cooperation between American companies in Thessaloniki, including:
- Pfizer
- Deloitte
- Chubb, Accenture and
- EY
with the support of the Consulate General of the USA, but also the Hellenic American Chamber of Commerce .
"The network," said Mr. Tsounis, "will work for an inclusive community for women in STEM, serving as a channel of connection, support and inspiration, enhancing their professional development, improving new skills, promoting gender equality and supporting inclusive opportunities."
