What are the projects of the Ministry of Defense for the new NSRF 2014-2020

The NSRF of the next period 2014-2020 is now focused on the staff of the Ministry of Defense, since programs of the current program related to military hospitals, the network of lighthouses of the Hellenic Navy and the "green" camps are not planned to be implemented.

"In the current economic climate, it is really unjustified not to absorb EU funds and not to use the potential we have as a country to raise funds that will support public investment," said Deputy Minister Th. Davakis for the Ministry of Defense.

For the new period, the projects by the Ministry of Defense that are considered ripe for inclusion in the NSRF are the following:

  1. ΦΙΛΙΠΠΟΣ ΙΙ”: Αφορά στη μηχανογράφηση Στρατιωτικών Νοσοκομείων, που δεν έχουν ενταχθεί στο δίκτυο υποστήριξης του “ΦΙΛΙΠΠΟΣ Ι”. The estimated cost is around €24 million. The Technical Specifications have been submitted and the Technical Data Sheet is being prepared.
    1. Construction of Building Infrastructure, supply and installation of a Linear Accelerator at 401 General Military Hospital of Athens, with a budget of €7.5 million. This is a program that will be included in the Regional Operational Programme of Attica, as well as the projects for the remodeling of ICU spaces at the Naval Hospital of Athens and the 251 General Hospital of Aviation (budget 1.1 million euros), as well as the upgrade of the Naval Hospital of Salamis and the expansion of the new wing of the outpatient clinics (budget of 1.3 million euros).
    2. Modernization of infrastructure of shared use airports with HCAA and upgrade of air traffic control services with radar supply for Kalamata and Anchialos airports. For the projects there are the technical specifications. They are included in the Operational Programme for Accessibility Enhancement. The estimated cost is around €20 million. for both airports.
    3. Modernization of the Laboratory Equipment of the Hellenic Air Force Academy for the Support of The Investigation of Air Accidents. It is part of the Operational Programme for Accessibility Support with a budget of 700,000 euros.
    4. Digitization of the Longitudinal Archive of Aerial Photographs of the Hellenic Army General Staff (Army Geographical Service), a project to be included in the Operational Program for Digital Convergence with a budget of 13.8 million euros. The technical specifications have been submitted and the signing of a memorandum of cooperation between the Hellenic Army General Staff and the OCSC for the cooperation in the supply of an integrated Digital Aerial Photography System is being promoted. The estimated cost is €2.8 million.
    5. In the final phase for accession is the Museum of Maritime Tradition of Greece, in the Faliriko Delta, one of the projects which will also be included in the Regional Operational Programme of Attica and is managed by the Region. The estimated cost is €40 million. It concerns an area adjacent to Flisvos Marina (located opposite the museum-battleship "Averoff") and it is a project that has been pending for years. For this project, the Ministry of Defence has some hope of it being funded by the current programme, which expires at the end of 2013.
    6. Repair of operating lighthouses designated as historical monuments. It will be included in the Regional Operational Programmes of Attica, the Regional Operational Programme of Thessaly, the Regional Operational Programme of Crete and the Regional Operational Programme of the Aegean Islands. The completed studies concern the lighthouses of Kochis Salamina (500,000 euros), Amorgos (250,000) and Trikeri (240,000).
    7. Promotion of exhibits through interactive electronic applications and services for military museums. It will be included in the Digital Convergence Operational Programme with the Hellenic Army General Staff as the implementing body and an estimated cost of € 2 million.
    8. Reconstruction of the track, runway and taxiways of Kalamata Airports (the study is ready and is in the HCAA for its assent), Anchialos (studies under preparation) and Andravida (ready study). These are HCAA-Air Force shared use airports and modernization of the electrical network. All three projects will be included in the Operational Programme for Accessibility Enhancement. Estimated costs: Kalamata €35.8 million, Anchialos €25 million, Andravida €37.3 million
    9. Relocation of infrastructure of the State Aircraft Factory (KEA) to the 112 combat wing in Elefsina, for the redevelopment and utilization of the old Hellinikon airport. These are Air Force facilities, which have not been transferred since the "El.Venizelos" airport began operating in Spata. The project will be included in the Operational Program for Accessibility Enhancement with a budget of 40 million euros. The implementation study and the technical bulletin have been completed.
