Three years: When do seniority increases come – To which branches of employees do they apply

From January 1, 2024, the three-year in wages in the private sector, which was suspended since 2012, returned.

As the former Minister of Labor, Adonis Georgiadis, said in the past days, “some will immediately see an increase in salary them. According to “ERGANI”, around 100,000 people have established or will establish the right to a 10% increase in 2024. As a product of the three years, it will be extended throughout the private sector and will reach approximately one million people”.

He added that the decision to “unfreeze” the three years earlier was justified, due to the faster de-escalation of unemployment below the barrier of 10%.

How the three-years will be paid

Specifically the seniority allowance will be paid as follows:

  • 10% increase within 2024 to 100,000 workers
  • 10% increase by the end of 2027 to 1,000,000 workers

Example for the three-years

  • Employee with 2.5 years of service until February 2012 —Increase of 78 euros / month on July 1
From 780 euros to 858 euros
  • Employee with 5 years of service until February 2012 —Increase 78 euros / month on January 1, 2025
From 858 euros to 936 euros
