Share

A major new venture capital initiative aimed at promoting innovation in the construction ecosystem has been announced by TITAN Group. invest up to 40 million dollars in the medium term and enter into partnerships to strengthen its development strategy.

As part of its aim to be among the first to be informed about new data-changing technologies, the TITAN Group proceeded in an investment in Zacua Ventures, a a global venture fund ("venture fund") that focuses on to early-stage start-ups with the object of sustainable construction and the built environment. In addition, the TITAN Group increased its existing investment in Rondo Energy, a US-based start-up pioneering carbon-neutral industrial heat solutions. These investments are in line with the Group's objective to continue to integrate innovative products, materials and services in its operations and in its solutions portfolio, promoting its growth and competitiveness and accelerating the achievement of its sustainability and digitalisation objectives.

New investment in Zacua Ventures

The TITAN Group 's investment in Zacua Ventures stems from a shared vision of sustainability in construction. The development of innovative building materials with a carbon neutral footprint, the optimization and automation of production processes and capitalizing on the potential of the fourth revolution in construction (Construction 4.0) are just a few examples of areas of common interest for TITAN Group and Zacua Ventures. The partnership allows Titan to connect with Zacua's portfolio companies, gaining access to innovative technologies and knowledge of emerging trends. Zacua's portfolio companies, on the other hand, benefit from Titan's expertise, resources and customer network, as well as support for their transition to larger-scale production and distribution.

Expansion of TITAN's investment in Rondo

The TITAN Group's strengthening support for Rondo underlines its commitment to next generation heat generation solutions as part of its carbon neutral strategy. The focus of the collaboration is on developing ideas for decarbonising the industry, including cement production. Titan contributes its deep industry knowledge and expertise around sustainable production that leverages digital technology, and Rondo contributes its unique innovation in reducing CO₂ emissions from industry and its strong global ecosystem of partners. Central to this cooperation is the RondoHeat Battery. This technology captures energy from renewable sources and produces continuous, high-temperature heat, significantly reducing emissions from fossil fuel consumption. As a result, the Rondo heat battery can become a key element of innovative, energy-intensive processes for reducing CO₂ emissions, such as carbon capture, green hydrogen production and conversion of captured carbon dioxide. With an efficiency twice that of hydrogen at less than half the cost, Rondo's heat battery has high potential for production and larger scale deployment, making it cost competitive with current energy storage methods.

Leonidas Kanellopoulos, Director of Sustainable Development and Innovation, TITAN Group

" Our commitment to embrace innovation and fresh ideas is firm and non-negotiable. By working with start-ups in construction (ConTech) and green technology (GreenTech), through direct and indirect investments, as well as partnerships, we intend to establish more partnerships in the industry."
