Start4Health: Acceleration program by Pfizer at Thessaloniki hub

Aiming to discover and develop innovative solutions that can address healthcare challenges, improve patients' digital experience and promote wellness through technology, the Pfizer Digital Innovation Centre (CDI) based in Thessaloniki organizes the Start4Health, an Accelerator that focuses on Digital Health.

The program invites Greek startup companies that develop digital innovative ideas, processes and solutions of innovative technology, and aim to improve health services and patients' lives. With Start4Health, CDI aims to strengthen its ties with the local technology and innovation ecosystem. Through a cross-fertilization in which the two parties will work together and exchange valuable know-how, they will help promote digital innovative solutions that could revolutionize the healthcare industry. The Programme focuses on the Digital Health environment and its various disciplinesseeking new technology products and services that can:

  • improve healthcare delivery enhance and personalize the therapeutic process provide intelligent data collection and analysis for remote monitoring and support improve the speed and accuracy of diagnosis increase patient participation, knowledge and awareness of health

The three phases of the Start4Health program

Start4Health will have a duration of three months and will take place in three consecutive phases:

  1. the Open Call
  2. Accelerator
  3. Demo Day

The Open Call phase will run from March 28 to April 29, 2022 (11:59 p.m.). It concludes with the selection of five sentences that will stand out. These proposals will move on to the next phase, the Accelerator, where through a six-week programme participants will further develop their proposals with the support of mentors and coaches from the technology and business ecosystem, including Pfizer executives. The Program concludes with the Demo Day, during which the now sophisticated and mature proposals will be presented to a Jury, which will consist of distinguished personalities in the field of Technology, Innovation and Business. The Committee will select and award the two best proposals with cash prizes of 25,000 euros and 10,000 euros for the first and second winning teams, respectively. In addition to the prize money, the teams through their participation will have the opportunity to:

  • optimize their business model
  • improve the value of their proposals
  • strengthen their market position
  • possibly ensure a future partnership with Pfizer
