Social Tourism: provisional lists of beneficiaries posted

The provisional lists of Beneficiaries, Recipients and Rejects for the 2023/24 Social Tourism Programme of the Public Employment Service (PES ) have been published.

The provisional lists of beneficiaries concern 300,000 social tourism cheques. It should be noted that this year almost 850,000 applications were submitted for about 1.5 million vouchers. checks, setting an all-time record for expressions of interest.

Objections on holiday subsidies

Beneficiaries who submitted an online application may submit a single appeal against the results from Thursday 22 June at 15:00 until Saturday 24 June at 18:00.

The objection is submitted exclusively online via gov.gr at:

Beneficiaries filing an online objection must:

- clearly state the reason for the objection and in relation to the reason for rejection (e.g. incorrect grading, fulfilment of the conditions for participation, etc.), and

- substantiate their claims by attaching to their objection, by electronic scanning, supporting documents proving them. The way in which the fulfilment of the eligibility and award criteria is demonstrated is described in detail in the Public Call (Annex Part 2), which beneficiaries should consult for the correct attachment of supporting documents.

Objections to the Social Tourism Programme that are not submitted electronically will not be considered.

For the first time, the programme will start one month earlier (1 July instead of 1 August) with a budget of €35 million. euro.

The overnight stays

Beneficiaries and beneficiaries can spend up to 6 nights in accommodation of their choice from the NYPA Provider Register, upon agreement with the provider, with a small private contribution.

Especially for accommodation in Leros, Lesvos, Chios, Kos and Evros, up to 10 nights can be stayed completely free of charge, while in the accommodation of Municipalities of Istiaiaia-Aidipsos and Mantoudi-Limni-Agios Ioannis. Anna of B. Evia and Samos can be booked up to 12 nights free of charge.

Subsidy rates remain increased by 20% for the peak month of August, as last year. In addition, for the first time they are increased by 20% during the Christmas (from 15.12.2023 to 14.01.2024) and Easter (from 26.04.2024 to 12.05.2024) periods, while the increase applies to all year round for the accommodation of B. Evia and Samos.

In addition to accommodation in tourist accommodation, ferry tickets are also subsidised. The contribution of beneficiaries is 25% and 20% for large families. For people with disabilities, ferry tickets are free of charge.

Beneficiaries of last year's scheme who have not yet activated their cheques can take a holiday until 31 July 2023.
