Social Tourism Programme: The platform opens again on 09/06

The platform will remain open for the submission of applications for the Social Tourism Programme for Employees-Unemployed 2023/24 of PUBLIC EMPLOYMENT SERVICE, from Friday 9 June at 17:00 until Sunday 11 June at 23:59, for those beneficiaries and providers who did not have time to submit their application before the deadline of last Monday 5 June.

The selection of beneficiaries is based on the prioritisation of specific criteria (disabled, single parent, number of children, income) through the Integrated Information System (IIS ) of the DYPA.

From 1 July

For the first time, the programme will start one month earlier (1 July instead of 1 August) and will cover 300,000 cheques with a budget of €35 million. euro.

Beneficiaries-beneficiaries can spend up to 6 nights in accommodation of their choice from the NYPA Provider Register, upon agreement with the provider, with a small private contribution.

Especially for accommodation in Leros, Lesvos, Chios, Kos and Evros, up to 10 nights can be stayed completely free of charge, while in the accommodation of Municipalities of Istiaiaia-Aidipsos and Mantoudi-Limni-Agios Ioannis. Anna of B. Evia and Samos up to 12 nights can be booked free of charge.

Increased subsidy at Social Tourism Programme

Subsidy rates remain increased by 20% for the peak month of August, as last year. In addition, for the first time they are increased by 20% also during the Christmas (from 15.12.2023 to 14.01.2024) and Easter (from 26.04.2024 to 12.05.2024) periods, while the increase is valid for the whole year for the accommodations of Β. Evia and Samos.

In addition to accommodation in tourist accommodation, ferry tickets are also subsidised. The contribution of beneficiaries is 25% and 20% for large families. For people with disabilities, ferry tickets are free of charge.

The beneficiaries

For the first time, this year's Social Tourism Programme expands the categories of beneficiaries, while vulnerable groups are strengthened, as there is a priority for people with disabilities and single parents. Beneficiaries are:

  • workers with a dependent private-law employment relationship on the closing date for applications; or
  • unemployed persons with a continuous period of unemployment of at least three months on the closing date for applications; or
  • insured in the eEFKA in their professional category with contributions to the unemployment branch of the DYPA at any time between 01.01.2022 and the day before the deadline for submission of applications.

Income must not exceed EUR 30,000, unless they are long-term unemployed, who must have an income of up to 16,000 euros if they are single, up to 24,000 euros if they are married, plus 3,000 euros per child, or up to 27,000 euros if they are single parents, plus 3,000 euros per child after the first.

Those who are subsidised through any other organisation's social tourism programme for the same period cannot participate.

Supporting documents relating to the conditions of participation or the classification of beneficiaries are sought ex officio. In cases where supporting documents are required because it is not possible to search for them spontaneously, they are attached to the applications.
