Smart Manufacturing: Agreement for the implementation of the €73 million action. euros

Operational Agreement for the implementation of the Smart Manufacturing Action, under the Smart Manufacturing, within the framework of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan On Thursday 4 August, the Minister of Development and Investment, Mr. K.M., signed the agreement on the "Economic Recovery and Recovery Plan. Adonis Georgiadis, the General Secretary of Industry Themis Eftychidou, the President of the Economic Chamber of Greece Mr. Konstantinos Kollias and the president of the Technical Chamber of Greece Mr. George Stasinos

The Smart Manufacturing action provides for Funding of 73 million euros to micro, small and medium-sized enterprises in the manufacturing and industrial sector in general in order to invest in new technologies for their digital transformation and their adaptation to the requirements of the 4th Industrial Revolution (Industry 4.0).

In particular, the funding concerns investment projects on the basis of three (3) pillars:

  1. Artificial intelligence and big data analytics
  2. Smart manufacturing technologies, and
  3. Robotics and automation

The total budget of EUR 73 million is not enough. Euro shall be allocated to:

  • by 70% in micro and small enterprises
  • by 30% in mid-range

Investment projects are financed with a budget from 250 thousand euros to 6 million euros.

"Today, we are formally activating the synergy of the Ministry of Development and Investments and the General Secretariat of Industry with the Economic Chamber of Greece and the Technical Chamber of Greece for the implementation of the "Smart Manufacturing" Action. I am particularly happy that the cooperation with the two bodies, which I personally sought, is becoming a reality and I am sure that with the coordination of the General Secretariat for Industry, they will be worthy of my trust with the perfect and successful implementation of another emblematic Action of our Ministry, which also aims to enhance the productivity, competitiveness and resilience of the Greek economy and specifically of industry. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the executives of the General Secretariat for Industry and the Special Service for the Management and Implementation of Industry and Commerce, the Economic Chamber and the Technical Chamber for their work so far in shaping the Action and to wish good strength and success in its implementation".
