The approval for the call for the Action, Smart Manufacturing, was published by the Ministry of Development and Investment , an action aimed at micro, small and medium-sized enterprises.

Object/Objective

Investment projects of very small, small and medium-sized enterprises of the Greek industrial ecosystem are subsidized to strengthen their technological infrastructure and upgrade their manufacturing equipment using smart cutting-edge technologies with low environmental impact.

Investment projects should aim improving the resilience of the business through the upgrade of systems digital production management and control, the supply of advanced and digitally controlled industrial equipment, the digitalisation of interconnection systems throughout the supply chain and in the production of systems and technology that support digital transformation.

Indicative interventions that can be implemented include:

• digitization of production lines by utilizing Industry 4.0 technologies
• automation and interconnection of supply chains
• design and production of smart products and services
• application of Smart Manufacturing technologies to improve cost efficiency
• quality assurance and risk management
• feasibility studies and market research for the development of new smart products/services

What is being assisted

The programme finances investment projects with a budget of between €250,000 and €6,000,000, which may include expenditure on:

• mechanical equipment
• building installations
• special building installations for the introduction of new technologies such as high-speed 5G network infrastructure
• laboratory and quality control equipment
• ICT & software equipment
• software licenses, IT security services
• product design, intellectual property, patent services
• certification costs
• technical consultancy services for the implementation of new IT infrastructure and software for the digital transformation of the business or for carrying out feasibility analysis for the development of new smart products and services,
• consultancy services for monitoring the investment plan, training of staff and workforce in new Industry 4.0 technologies
