A programme to boost unemployment subsidies in the Strategic Sustainable Urban Development (SUDA) areas of the Metropolitan Unit of Thessaloniki and the rest of the Region of Central Macedonia (CSM), comes into force.

The programme is open to those who wish to be active in the priority productive areas of RIS3 in RCM. For example unemployed, former self-employed and former owners of micro and small enterprises in RIS3 productive sectors for RCM. Also unemployed young scientists with specialties related to the productive sectors of RIS3 for RCM.

Period of submission to unemployed persons for business creation

Interested parties can submit their applications for the action until November 15, 2021 at 15:00.

Objective of the action

The purpose of the action is to support business ideas for self-employment and the establishment of micro-enterprises, by the unemployed.

Areas

The support for self-employment and entrepreneurship will concern exclusively the priority areas of RIS3 in the Region of Central Macedonia:

• Agri-food sector
• Tourism
• Materials and Constructions
• Clothing – Textiles
• Information and Communication Technologies
• Energy Technologies
• Environmental Technologies
• Transport and supply chain

The action supports micro-enterprises set up by unemployed persons with subjects related to the eligible sectors of activity.

Requirement for unemployed people to set up a business

A precondition for the subsidies for unemployed persons is the organisation of their activity in self-employed premises.

The areas of application of the Metropolitan Sustainable Urban Development Strategy
Unity of Thessaloniki are the following:

• the entire area of the Municipalities of Ampelokipi – Menemeni, Thessaloniki, Kalamaria, Kordelio – Evosmos, Neapoli – Sykies, Pavlos Mela
• the Municipality of Pylaia - Chortiatis
• the Municipality of Kalochori

Other areas of intervention of the Region of Central Macedonia

• Prefecture of Imathia
• Prefecture of Thessaloniki (other areas except SDGS areas)
