The allazosyskevi.gov.gr platform opens today, Tuesday, June 21, for applications for the "Recycle – Change Device" electrical appliances replacement program.
The program subsidizes the replacement of:
- Air conditioner
- Refrigerator
- Freezers
That is, devices that have the highest power consumption, providing subsidies from 30% to 50% for the purchase of new ones.
Each household included in the program will be able to replace up to three electrical appliances (up to 2 old air conditioners, a refrigerator or a freezer) for the main or secondary residence, owned or leased.
Please note that no supporting documents are required for applications. All that the interested party will need are the Taxisnet codes and the electricity supply number of his residence.
Beneficiaries will receive a voucher corresponding to a device, so the maximum number of tokens they can receive is three. The vouchers will include a unique code, the name and VAT number of the beneficiary, the mobile phone, the device category, the aid rate, the home address and the benefit number.
For the purchase of new electrical appliances, a list of suppliers will be compiled, while they should be energy class A2+ and above.
For the purchase of new electrical appliances, a list of suppliers will be compiled, while they should be energy class A2+ and above.
It is also noted that the platform will open gradually depending on the final digit of the VAT number. That is, tomorrow it will open for TIN numbers ending in 1 and 2, on June 22 it will open for TIN in 1, 2, 3 and 4 and so on.
The platform will remain open for two weeks, until July 5.
Within three to four weeks of the platform's closure, the program's vouchers will be issued.
Finally, the purchase of the electrical appliance should be made by September 16, 2022.
The amounts for subsidizing electrical appliances
As already mentioned, the subsidy will reach 30% to 50% of the cost of the new device, depending on income (see also below).
In total, the final amount of the deduction will vary from 135 to 710 euros, depending on various criteria (income, place of residence, type and characteristics of a device recycled, price of a device).
It is noted that both the net value and the VAT of the new electrical appliance will be subsidized, depending on the place of residence, while there will be a ceiling.
For example, a resident of Athens will be subsidized 440 euros for the purchase of an air conditioner of 9,000 BTU, while an island resident will be subsidized 320 euros due to reduced VAT. For an air conditioner of 24,000 BTU the maximum subsidy amount will be up to 710 euros.
The beneficiaries of electrical appliances
Beneficiaries will be all households regardless of income. For the selection of the final beneficiaries, a comparative evaluation will be made with objective criteria and points.
Vulnerable, large families, single parents and families with disabilities will receive additional credits.
There will be four income categories of beneficiaries and the subsidy rate will be based on them. For instance:
- For the first income category, from 5,000 euros and below, the subsidy will be 50%
- For the fourth category, with an annual income of more than 20,000 euros, the subsidy for the replacement of electrical appliances will be 30%
Please note that one application will be made per residence. For example, for a family of four, both parents can make two separate applications for different residences each.
Those who are not selected due to low credits will remain runners-up in the event of an increase in programme funding.
If the application is approved, the consumer will receive electronically and on the mobile phone a code corresponding to the subsidy to which he is entitled and will buy the device at the reduced price from the store he wants (if he participates in the program). He will also be obliged to deliver the old device for recycling.
Coming program for commercial refrigerators
The staff of the Ministry of Environment and Energy announced that an action for recycling professional refrigerators will soon come.
The budget of the program "Recycle – Change Device" reaches 150 million euros και θα χρηματοδοτηθεί από πόρους ΕΣΠΑ.
According to the Minister of Environment and Energy, Kostas Skrekas, replacing old appliances with new ones can achieve a reduction of up to 40% in electricity consumption. Thus, more than 380,000 energy-intensive devices can be replaced. This corresponds to savings of 150 to over 300 euros on an annual basis.
The total savings of electricity generation can reach 209,000 megawatt hours per year. In other words, it is equivalent to the total consumption of a city of 100,000 inhabitants.
The benefit of savings for the Greek economy from the replacement of electrical appliances can also affect the 40 million euros the year based on current energy prices. At the same time, the reduction in C02 emissions reaches 125,000 tons per year.
