Two new invitations of Rural Development Programme (RDP) 2014-2020 are expected to be launched by the end of the year, under Action 10.1.04: Reduction of water pollution from agricultural activity.

Estimated budget for the reduction of water pollution

The total budget of both Calls is estimated to be around €150 million. The budget of each Call will be determined in the Calls of the Action.

The action is co-funded by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development under the Rural Development Programme 2014 – 2020.

Within the framework of the action, two (2) Calls for Expression of Interest will take place.

One Call will concern specific commitments A (Fallow) and B (Crop rotation), while the other Call will concern specific commitments C (Green fertilisation in tree crops) and D (Buffer zone on parcels adjacent to surface water).

Beneficiaries of the action concerning the reduction of water pollution

Beneficiaries of the invitations are farmers, natural or legal persons or groups of such persons, who own agricultural land.

The beneficiaries of the action: reducing water pollution from agricultural activity, must:

• hold the parcels legally incorporated annually and for the entire duration of the commitment;
• keep the parcels included stable throughout the commitment period, as it is not allowed to change the agricultural parcels committed
• submit an annual payment claim
• submit electronically annually through the Information System, which supports the Action, the required supporting documents, in accordance with the institutional framework of the Action
• accept and facilitate audits by the competent national and EU control bodies
• keep, throughout the duration of the commitments, an agri-environment-climate beneficiary file, which is kept for a further 3 years after the completion of the commitments and must be available to the control authorities at any relevant request.
