The 1,091 million. people the number of registered unemployed in the registers of the Labor Force Employment Agency (PES) was formed, as shown by the data of November 2021.

The specific number is increased by 10.51% compared to October of the same year, but also decreased by 5.36% compared to November 2020.

particularly:

  • The total number of registered unemployed, based on job search (job seekers), amounted to 1,081,622 people. From those 584,634 (54.05%) are registered in the OAED register for a period of time equal to or more than 12 months. The 496,988 (45.95%) are registered in the PES register for a period of less than 12 months. Men amount to 389,993 (percentage 36.06%). Women amount to 691,629 (63.94%).
  • The total number of registered others (non-jobseekers) amounted to 9,996 people. Men were 3,600 (percentage 36.01%) and women 6,396 (percentage 63.99%).

Regarding the total number of subsidized unemployed people, i.e. those who received unemployment benefits in November, there were 127,544 people, of which:

  • 91,401 (percentage 71.66%) were joint and other subsidized categories and
  • the 36,143 (percentage of 28.34%) seasonal tourist professions.

Men reached 52,823 (41.42%) and women 74,721 (58.58%).

The same time:

It is worth noting that according to ELSTAT, the unemployment rate was set at 13% in September from 13.9% in August 2021. In September 2020 the rate stood at 16.5%.

Of course, with the end of the tourist season, it is logical that the number of unemployed will increase. And this is due to the seasonality of the specific jobs.
