The online application process for the new programme continues a programme for the acquisition of work experience for 2,000 young unemployed people in the Region of Western Macedonia (1,450 positions). An additional 550 positions are for the Municipalities of Megalopolis, Tripoli, Gortynia, Sparta, Oichalia and Kalamata of the Peloponnese Region.

Budget of 2,000 unemployed

The total budget of the OAED programme amounts to to EUR 14 million euros.

Who it is aimed at the OAED programme

The program is addressed to private sector companies, to public companies, agencies and organizations that regularly carry out economic activity, as well as to first and second level local government businesses that regularly carry out economic activity in the above areas.

Beneficiaries

Beneficiaries are unemployed aged 18-29, of any educational level, registered in the OAED register for at least one month in the FMC2:

• Kozanis,
• Ptolemaida,
• Florina,
• Amyntaiou,
• Kastoria,
• Grevena,
• Tripoli (Municipalities of Tripoli, Gortynia and Megalopolis),
• Sparta (Municipality of Sparta) and
• Kalamata (Municipalities of Kalamata and Oichalia).

Duration and amount of the subsidy for 2,000 unemployed of the OAED

The duration of the program is 7 months and the participants are paid by the PES a monthly compensation equal to the legal minimum wage, as well as a proportion of holiday gifts and leave allowance.

Employers submit to the Integrated Information System (IIS ) of the OAED (e-services) with a single online application. Then, OAED job counsellors nominate candidates to the company, according to the specialty and the required qualifications, and the company selects among the candidates for recruitment.

The program is part of the "social package" of actions of the Organization, total budget of 107 million euros, for the just transition to the post-lignite era, with the aim of effectively supporting employment and social cohesion.
