The financing of these operations was made possible following the decision of Mr. Adonis Georgiadis to establish a branch of the Intermediate Body of the Operational Program "COMPETITIVENESS AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP" (EFEPAE) in the Region of Eastern Macedonia - Thrace (Komotini) and to undertake all the programs.
Therefore, with the signature of Mr. Christos Metios, the number of enterprises in Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, whose the aid has been approved by the Region reaches 21,188 and the corresponding resources of the NSRF 54.5 million. euro.
In the non-repayable aid programme an additional 2,000 businesses can join, out of a total of 3,000 whose application was initially rejected; which have the possibility to correct and resubmit their application by 1 November so that this time it can be approved, with an estimated budget of EUR 6 million. euros, which have also been committed.
Thus, the total number of beneficiaries of the non-repayable aid program of the Region of East Macedonia and Thrace can reach 23,000. Correspondingly, the total funding could reach EUR 60 million. euro, covering almost all businesses in the region. Something that Mr. Metios had announced during the presentation of the program, in October 2020.
Regarding payments by EFEPAE, 2.6 million euros have already been deposited. in 1,047 enterprises. By the end of the year it is estimated that payments of EUR 15 million will have been made. while all payments will be completed in the first quarter of 2022.
