EKPA: Call to startups in the Business Accelerator: Archimedes

Business teams and startups are invited to apply for participation in the 4th cycle of the accelerator programme, the call to the Business Accelerator: Archimedes, of the Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship Research of the National Kapodistrian University of Athens. The deadline for submission of applications is 30 September 2021 and interested parties can apply online at: https://archimedes.uoa.gr/accelerator-invitation/ .

The start date of the acceleration program has been set for Tuesday, October 19, 2021.

Eligibility of beneficiaries in the Business Accelerator: Archimedes

The call is addressed to natural persons and start-ups that have not completed 3 years of operation, of which at least one member is also a member of the university community of NKUA, as follows:

  • undergraduate and postgraduate students and graduates
  • Researchers
  • faculty (Teaching and Research Staff) members
  • administrators
  • visiting researchers/professors

Acceleration program services provided

  1. Hosting the teams at the Business Accelerator premises
  2. Training on entrepreneurship-related topics (Lean startup, Business Model Canvas, TAM, presentation techniques, Business Plan, etc.)
  3. Counseling guidance from experienced consultants
  4. Support from specialized mentors, members of the academic community of the university and the business community
  5. Networking with businesses and organizations as well as other teams hosted in the acceleration program
  6. Support in intellectual property management and technology transfer, in cooperation with the Technology Transfer Office of the Archimedes Center

Procedure for participation in the Business Accelerator: Archimedes

  1. The evaluation of the applications for participation is carried out by the executives of the Archimedes Center. For the evaluation, the absolute criterion is the eligibility based on the resulting relationship with the NKUA. Then the novelty of the idea and the degree of maturity are evaluated.
  2. For the teams/start-ups that have submitted the application form and meet the eligibility criterion, a short personal communication is planned, in which the business idea is explored and the needs to be met through the acceleration program are identified.
  3. The business teams that will be selected from the evaluation process will present their business idea to a Committee of the Archimedes Center.
  4. After the completion of the acceleration program, business teams will have the opportunity to present their business plan to funding and business entities.
