As the platform for the submission of applications for the grant of the of the catering industry with funds of 330 million euros provided by the NSRF, the government is proceeding with the drafting of other programs to support other areas of activity during their return to normality such as gyms, playgrounds and lawyers. The total of subsidies that will be granted to support the sectors hit by the pandemic amounts to about 700 million euros.

The next big action concerns Tourism with subsidies reaching the 300 million euros, which is also expected to be announced by May 10, while two more actions are expected soon to subsidize gyms and playgrounds, as well as self-employed lawyers.

All actions will be integrated into the existing NSRF which is reinforced through REACT EU, the part of the EU Recovery Fund linked to the pandemic.

Grant for gyms and playgrounds

The aim of this action is to provide targeted, support - support to businesses that are active in specific nace code related to gym and playground services and which were particularly severely affected by the pandemic, having remained for the longest time since the onset of the pandemic in mandatory suspension of physical operation.

With this in mind, this Action wishes to cover, in the form of operating expenses support (including employment costs), part of the lost turnover as well as to provide an incentive to maintain employment as soon as these activities are relaunched.

Each business (distinct VAT number) will be awarded a non-refundable grant amount graduated on the basis of the total wage costs of the enterprise. The evaluation process will be comparative on the basis of an objective criterion a decrease in turnover in 2020 compared to 2019. The start-ups will receive the minimum amount of public funding provided for under the Action

In this way, the action is an incentive measure to enhance the viability of businesses and avoid job losses.

Grant program for lawyers

This action will concern the support of self-employed lawyers affected by the pandemic (Covid 19) in the form of a grant.

The aim of the action is to provide, in a targeted manner, support - support for self-employed lawyers, who have been particularly hard hit by the pandemic due to the non-physical functioning of the courts. With this in mind, the Action comes to limit, in the form of aid, the loss of income for this category of self-employed and to support their ability to respond to digital modernization requirements of their offices by covering the costs of upgrading their digital / electronic infrastructure.

The budget of the Action will amount to the total amount of 20.000.000€.

Beneficiaries of the Action

Businesses that may receive public funding under this Action are self-employed lawyers (natural persons) registered with the Bar Association, who operate legally in the country and have started at the competent Tax Office until 31/12/2020.

Eligible costs

In order to digitally modernise the offices of self-employed lawyers, the following equipment procurement costs are exclusively subsidized:

PCs, laptops, routers, web cameras, microphones, headphones, speakers, video conferencing systems, scanners / multifunction devices, videoconferencing / projection screens.

Each business (distinct VAT number) will be awarded a non-refundable grant amount graduated based on the total turnover of the trader in the year 2019. The evaluation process will be comparative based on an objective criterion of reduction of turnover in the year 2020 compared to 2019.
