NEW NSRF 2021/27: What’s new – Resources of 26 billion euros

With the greeting of the Prime Minister, Mr. Kyriakos Mitsotakis, the Development Conference for the NEW NSRF 2021/27, which will be held in Kalamata on 16 and 17 June at the Megaro Choro, will open with the title " What's NEW in the NEW NSRF 2021/27 ".

The purpose of the two-day conference, which essentially marks the beginning of the new Regional Development Partnership Agreement (NSRF), is to present the new priorities of the European Commission and the new development priorities of Greece for the coming years to enhance the productive potential of the economy, infrastructure, human skills and strengthen social protection.

The conference will be opened by the Commissioner for Cohesion and Reforms of the European Commission, Elisa Ferreira (via video), the Minister of Development and Investment, Mr. Adonis Georgiadis and the Regional Governor of the Peloponnese, Mr. Panagiotis Nikas. Meanwhile, the Vice-President of the European Commission, Mr Margaritis Schinas, will close the proceedings of the first day of the Conference.

In the first part of the conference, the objectives, resources and procedures of the NEW NSRF 2021/27 will be presented in detail by the Deputy Minister of Development and Investments, Mr. Giannis Tsakiris, the Deputy Minister of Development and Investments, Mr. Nikos Papathanasis and the Deputy Minister of Research and Technology, Mr. Christos Dimas. Mr. Apostolos Tzitzikostas will represent the European Regions as President of the European Committee of the Regions, the Union of Greek Regions and Regional Governor of Central Macedonia.

Available resources for the NEW NSRF 2021/27

Through the NEW NSRF 2021/27, approved by the European Commission on July 29, 2021, available resources will be channeled to the Greek economy and society 26,2 Billion euros, of which 20,9 billion euros With the NEW NSRF, the following will be funded, among others:

  • New actions and civil protection projects
  • digital transformation
  • just development transition
  • innovative and extrovert entrepreneurship
  • transport infrastructure
  • limiting the impact of climate change
  • rational water management
  • biodiversity
  • 'clean' energy
  • HR skills
  • integration of vulnerable social groups
  • health and mental health
  • quality youth education
  • integrated spatial development

Modules

All the work of the Conference on the NEW NSRF 2021/27 - which will also be broadcasted via live streaming - will be developed in five major thematic sections:

  • Entrepreneurship as a catalyst of the development process (Coordinator: Michalis Goumas, Special Service for Strategy, Planning and Evaluation, Ministry of Development and Investments)
  • Upgrading public infrastructure (Coordinator: Faye Makantasis, Research Director, "diANEOsis")
  • Strengthening social development and social cohesion (Coordinator: Ioannis Firbas, Director General of the National Coordination Authority, Ministry of Development and Investments)
  • Planning spatial development (Coordinator: Maria Kostopoulou, Deputy Head, Special Service for Strategy, Planning and Evaluation, Ministry of Development and Investments)
  • Green Investments for a sustainable future - Just Development Transition (Coordinator: Petros Evgenikos, Associate Secretary General of Public Investments and NSRF, Ministry of Development and Investments)

The Conference will be closed by the Secretary General of Public Investments and NSRF Mr. Dimitrios Skalkos.
