In order to highlight and reward original ideas based on new technologies and to promote innovation in Greece, NBG organizes the 12th Innovation & Technology Competition.

The Competition is an action of the NBG Business Seedsprogramme by the National Bank of Greece to support innovative entrepreneurship and aims to strengthen and support creativity, especially among young people, and to foster a culture of innovation.

The first four winning proposals will be awarded with the amounts of 20,000 euros, 10,000 euros, 6,000 euros and 4,000 euros respectively.

The evaluation of the proposals by the National Bank of Greece will be carried out in cooperation with the University Institutions:

• Athens University of Economics and Business
• Aristotle University of Thessaloniki
• University of Piraeus
• University of Patras
• University of Crete
• University of Macedonia
• University of Peloponnese
• University of Thessaly
• Technical University of Crete

Participation in the 12th Innovation & Innovation Contest Technology Competition can be individual or group participation with a subject that falls within one of the following Themes:

• e-Entrepreneurship
• Environment and Technology
• Culture and Technology

In addition to the competitive phase and the awarding of proposals through the annual Innovation & Technology Competition, emphasis is placed on supporting the implementation of selected proposals that have been distinguished.

Emphasis is placed on the mentoring of the teams by experienced NBG executives, who, with more than twenty years of professional experience and in different sectors, propose targeted solutions to improve each innovative effort.

In collaboration with the Athens University of Economics and Business, representatives of selected proposals attend entrepreneurship training programs and receive free services and products from Amazon and Facebook.

Also, for the financial support of companies, targeted financial support actions are provided in cooperation with The People's Trust, lending and participation in their share capital as well as mentoring and networking activities in cooperation with Google, Grant Thornton, Watson, Farley & Williams, Israel Advanced Technology Industries (IATI), American-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce, Census, ΜcKinsey, KEMEL, Endeavor Greece, InnoEnergy, KiNNO, National Documentation Centre, the Onassis Foundation, Amazon, Microsoft, PriceWaterHouseCoopers (PwC), Accenture, (HIGGS) Higher Incubator Giving Growth & Sustainability, Thessaloniki Innovation and Culture Ecosystem (ΟΚ!Τhess), CapsuleT, H2B Hub, ΕΙΤ Climate-Kic Hub Greece and the ARCHIMEDES Center.
