Mytilineos' successful paid internship program "Engineers in Action" reaches its sixth cycle. Young graduates of polytechnic schools are invited to register if they wish to participate. At the same time to work in one of the leading companies in Greece.

The program "Engineers in Practice" has a duration of one year and offers high-level work experience, with apprenticeships in real conditions and projects. Engineers, depending on their specialty, are employed in projects of the Company's Business Units:

• Metallurgy
• Electricity & Natural Gas
• Sustainable Development Projects and Renewable Energy Sources & Storage Development)
• Central Services and Operations

From the beginning of the program in 2014 until today, 109 young "Engineers in Practice" have participated. The company's goal remains to make the program a point of reference for graduates of polytechnic schools starting their work careers.

In the 5th cycle of the program that started in November 2021 and is in progress, 48 engineers joined. It is the largest number of engineers who joined the program to date.

Linking education to the labour market is a complex process. Especially today, when there is a shortage of skilled workers, despite the many opportunities created by the recovery of the Greek economy. One of the factors leading to this result is the failure to match the skills of prospective employees with the needs of modern entrepreneurship. Also secondarily the brain drain.

In this context, the "Engineers in Action" Program comes to meet this need, highlighting the importance of paid internship programs. The General Manager of Human Resources of Mytilineos Sara Fideli stated on the occasion of the opening of the 6^th cycle: "We are very proud to revive the institution of apprenticeship in real working conditions. The work experience gained by the participants emphasizes both the acquisition of hard and soft skills. The high absorption in the labor market justifies our choice".

Applications for the ^6th cycle of theEngineers in ActionProgramme are now open and applicants can submit their CVs until Sunday 31 July.

The selection criteria by Mytilineos

Candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Degree from Polytechnic Schools in Greece or abroad such as Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Mining / Metallurgical or Civil Engineers
• Excellent knowledge of both Greek and English
• Excellent computer skills (Windows, MS Office)
• Work experience of less than 3 years
• Ability to relocate to areas of Greece where Mytilineos operates
• Fulfilled military obligations, for male candidates
• Master's degree / MBA (desirable)

The selection process of the candidates includes, among other things, psychometric tests in electronic form, interviews with representatives of the Human Resources team, as well as participation in the Simulation Center.
