With 2.3 million euros The Municipality of Athens supports 111 small businesses in the historic center. The aim is to proceed with the energy upgrade of their infrastructure and equipment. So in this way they will reduce their energy costs and operating costs.
According to the relevant announcement issued by the Municipality of Athens, this is the "Athens Business Green Toolkit" initiative, the initiative was announced in May last year by the Development and Tourism Promotion Company of the Municipality of Athens (EATA). It is part of an integrated strategy of the Municipal Authority of Bakogiannis to support the local economy. At the same time, it aims to create the best conditions for a sustainable and resilient city.
As part of the action, the small Athenian businesses that submitted their funding applications based on their investment plans (budget from 5,000 to 30,000 euros), are funded by the Municipality of Athens for 80% of their total investment, in order to upgrade the energy and operational of the business.
