The beginning of the training program "The ReGeneration Initiative: Upskilling English Youth for the Digital Era powered by Microsoft", were announced by Microsoft Greece, Cyprus and Malta and ReGeneration , which is part of the two organisations' collaboration on the "GR for Growth" initiative. The aim is to develop (up/reskilling) young professionals in digital skills that are essential for the future of work.
This initiative, which is under the auspices of the Ministry of Digital Governance, is addressed to young graduates up to 35 years old, from all over Greece and from any academic background. It is expected to provide 1,000 beneficiaries with approximately 20,000 hours of training in soft and digital skills such as:
- Office automation
- Mobile apps, information systems
- Data visualization
- Cloud technologies
- Digital marketing
- UI/UX
The aim is to retrain and upgrade necessary digital skills that serve as a powerful tool for the modern labour market.
The guidelines
The "The ReGeneration Initiative: Upskilling English Youth for the Digital Era powered by Microsoft" is designed by ReGeneration and Microsoft, with the guidance of Code.Hub and the academic support of the Athens Tech College and It includes 4 directions:
- ICT Tools & Professional Skills in the Digital Age)
- Business Administration & Technlogy Projects)
- Digital Literacy for an Interconnected World)
- Digital Transformation Tools & Processes)

Microsoft andReGeneration
The cooperation of Microsoft with ReGeneration was launched in 2020 to breathe life into one of the key pillars of Microsoft's "GR for Growth", during which the company committed to train 100,000 professionals of the public and private sector as well as students, with the ultimate goal of the digital transformation of public and private organizations within the next five years.
The DiGiYouth Initiative is the initiative - the result of this partnership, which aims to offer opportunities for learning and developing new skills (up / re skilling) to young graduates and by training them in the most sought-after digital skills, to help them in their professional steps, placing them in key positions in the labor market.
The academies
- The First part of the initiative (DiGiYouth Ι) included 2 academies in innovative and sought-after fields of Technology: the «ReGeneration Academy on Cloud Tools&Technology powered by Microsoft", which concluded with the hiring rate reaching 100% and the "ReGeneration Academy on Big Data &Artificial Intelligence powered by Microsoft", with the corresponding percentage reaching 70% and the recruitment process underway.
- The Part Two (DiGiYouth ΙΙ) included 3 Academies, of which the first ReGeneration Academy exclusively for new graduates ("ReGeneration Academy4Women in Tech-Project Management powered by Microsoft") that was completed in the spring of 2021, having trained 33 new professionals in tech-related project management and with the recruitment process underway. At the same time, the 2 academies that complete the DiGiYouth Initiative ΙΙ, το «ReGeneration Academy on Cloud Tools & Technology powered by Microsoft vol. 2» and«ReGeneration Academy on Big Data & Artificial Intelligence powered by Microsoft vol. 2» are in the process of being trained and are expected to be completed at the end of December.
It is worth noting that, in total, out of the 3 completed academies so far in collaboration with Microsoft, 88 young people have been trained, of which 50 have been placed in 46 companies from 18 different industries, taking on roles such as:
- Automation Developer
- Digital Operations Specialist
- Junior Energy Supply Analyst
- Junior Fullstack Developer
- Management Consulting Associate
- Software Engineer
