Lifeskills Hackathons aim to be a participatory learning and planning process. Young people and social enterprises will work together to create new or improved products/services, which will provide a knowledge, networking and skills development experience for young people . At the same time they will enhance the economic viability of the businesses and increase their social impact.

What will happen during the Hackathons

Five teams will be created in each hackathon, each of which will consist of a social enterprise and up to five young people. The teams will be formed on the first day and then with the support of mentors and coordinators will develop/improve a product/service that will help to address a societal challenge.

At the end of each hackathon, teams will be invited to present their proposals to the jury and compete for a cash prize of €2000 to work further on implementing their proposal as a team. In addition, the young people who will be part of the winning team will win a gift card worth €100 from social enterprises.
