Know your Customer: the platform of the Development Bank is immediately available

The Know your Customer (KYC) platform will be immediately available on the market Hellenic Development Bank - HDB . The platform will act as a link between businesses and banks. The aim is to help expand the perimeter of the credit capable . (bankable).

This was announced by the CEO of the Hellenic Development Bank - HDB Athina Hadjipetrou, at the Annual Partner Event of Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) "Accelerating Evolution".

It is noted that on the same issue, a few days ago, the Minister of Development and Investment, Adonis Georgiadis, had stated:

"The aim is to double the number of businesses that can access bank lending, from 40,000 to 80,000."

In the panel on "Investing in Digital Economy", Ms. Hadjipetrou mentioned among others:

  • HDB's innovative financing tools for SMEs
  • The need for SMEs to adopt ESG criteria, not only for growth but for their survival, describing ESG as a "survival kit"
  • HDB's support to SMEs with a new ESG tracker application that will allow SMEs to see what stage of sustainable development they are at, i.e. it will act as an "ESG self-assessment" for the entrepreneur
  • In the digital transformation of HDB
  • To HDB's contribution to the expansion of bankable businesses with the KYC platform that will be readily available in the market

"The new pioneering Know your Customer platform will act as a link between businesses and banks," he said.

The Know your Customer platform will act as a link between businesses and banks. In other words the opportunity, it will be offered - through the HDB - to businesses that want to be financed to submit, one time , the data and documents that will certify to the partner institutions their currency, creditworthiness and business plan for their eligibility.

"HDB's goal is to continue to facilitate access to finance for start-ups buissness," concluded Ms Hadjipetrou.
