More than 6,000 small and medium enterprises are set to receive funding through the three new programmes of the Hellenic Development Bank - HDB as banks approved their loan applications 1.44 billion in total. euros during the first 10 days of operation of the KnowYour Customer (KYC)platform, according to an announcement.
"Having already contributed to the financing of more than 40,000 Greek SMEs over the last 3 years, the Hellenic Development Bank has launched the new KyC platform in anticipation of helping to expand the number of businesses that have access to its financial instruments," said the Minister of Development & Growth. The 10-day period for HDB programmes
In detail, from 15-24 May via the KYC platform:
- 6,916 applications were submitted by SMEs for loans totalling EUR 1,688,014,687
- 6,008 applications for loans totalling EUR 1,445,738,007 received a positive response from banks
- while 908 applications for loans totalling 242.276.680 euros are being evaluated by the banks
Strong interest
To date, 17,101 businesses have logged on to the HDB KYC platform.
- 3,237 (19%) companies had no tax information (debts to the state).
- Out of 9,469 businesses audited, 702 (7.5%) were found to be unable to issue insurance certificates (for the programmes for which they are required) due to debts to EFKA.
- Out of 9,074 businesses audited, 112 businesses (1.2%) were found to be registered in the Economic Behaviour Data Files of the TIRESIA S.A.
