The date for the submission of applications for the Green Agrotourism sub-project has been postponed to 19 July, according to a decision of the Minister of Rural Development and Food, George Georgantas. The closing date for applications remains 30 September 2022.
The public aid amounts to €49,006,000 and is funded by the Recovery and Resilience Fund for the period 2022/25.
Potential beneficiaries shall submit:
The Aid Application (according to Annex IV: Aid Application) and the Supporting Documents for the approval of the proposal (according to Annex I: List of supporting documents)
The application along with all the supporting documents are submitted with a digital signature (where required) to the Single Digital Portal of the State – www.gov.gr – in the section Agriculture and livestock / Agricultural Entrepreneurship, after the user registers.
Where Green Agrotourism is targeted
This project is specifically aimed at: Existing and In-Place SMEs and large enterprises:
- A) Existing Legal Entities (SMEs and Large Enterprises)
- B) Under-establishment of Legal Entities that complete the incorporation procedures before the issuance of the individual approval decision for inclusion in the Subproject, while natural persons and sole proprietorships are not supported.
The Green Rural Tourism programme supports investment projects in the tourism sector, which link the primary and secondary sector with the tertiary sector, creating a new tourism product.
The aim is to enhance the competitiveness and recognition of products in the markets through their placement in points of attraction for visitors – tourists and the development of experiential agrotourism actions.
Each investment project should demonstrate the above objective and additionally at least one of the following objectives:
a) The improvement of the position of farmers in the value chain.
b) The integration of innovation processes and the use of new technologies as well as environmentally friendly processes, which limit the phenomenon of climate change.
(c) Sustainable local development and more efficient management of natural resources.
d) The increase of the degree of cooperation in the primary sector and the adoption of contract farming.
Beneficiaries of the grant scheme
All legal entities, whether owned by SMEs or large enterprises, may be considered as beneficiaries, subject to the specific provisions of the specific article of the G.S.A. applicable on a case-by-case basis, provided that they fulfil the following conditions:
a) They offer food and agri-food products to visitors, within the installation area or at the place of providing experiential tourism services of the business.
(b) Raw materials shall be derived from:
(aa) From contract farming at least 60% per annum, or
(bb) From vertical integration of the production process at a rate of at least 60% per year.
The above obligation starts from the date of completion of the implementation of the investment and has a duration of at least 3 years.
Persons operating in the form of a civil law company, legal forms of the consortium with the exception of Social Cooperative Enterprises cannot be considered as beneficiaries.
Green Agrotourism - Subsidized funding
Finally, the limits of the requested budget of each application for funding are the following:
– Micro – Small – Medium-sized enterprises: EUR 500,000.00 (minimum eligible budget requested) – EUR 7,500,000.00 (maximum eligible budget requested)
- Large enterprises: 500.000,00 euro (minimum eligible budget requested) -12.500.000,00 euro (maximum eligible budget requested)
