Fuel Pass 2: The platform for applications opens

The fuel pass 2 platform opens today 29/7/22 with the applications of those who have a VAT number that expires in 0 and 1. Gradually, applications for the remaining VAT numbers will be opened, while the platform will remain open until August 29th.

However, for the second round of aid, it is a prerequisite to record the last income picture, so the beneficiaries must have submitted a tax return for the financial year 2021.

More specifically, based on the Joint Ministerial Decision signed by Mr. Theodoros Skylakakis, Mr. Adonis Georgiadis, Mr. Kyriakos Pierrakakis and Mr. Theodoros Livanios:

Applications will be submitted for Fuel Pass 2 depending on the last digit of the VAT number as follows:

  • 29.7.2022 for VAT numbers expiring in 0 and 1
  • 30.7.2022 for VAT numbers expiring in 2 and 3
  • 31.7.2022 for VAT numbers expiring in 4 and 5,
  • 1.8.2022 for VAT numbers expiring in 6 and 7,
  • 2.8.2022 for VAT numbers expiring in 8 and 9.
  • from 3.8.2022 onwards, it is possible to submit applications, regardless of the expiring number of the TIN of natural persons.

The beneficiary is any natural person including self-employed persons, who are tax residents of Greece with a registered tax residence in Greece family income for tax year 2021 up to 30,000 euros, increased by EUR 3,000 for the spouse or a member of a civil partnership and in addition to €3,000 for each dependent child in the household (up to a maximum of €45,000) may apply for financial assistance to help cover consumption costs motor fuels of the months of July, August and September 2022.

The reinforcement of Fuel Pass 2 for the period July – September 2022 amounts to:

  1. 100 euros with the use of a digital debit card for eligible owners of vehicles other than motorcycles – mopeds, with main residence in the Regions of North Aegean, South Aegean, Ionian Islands, Crete, in the Regional Unit of Islands of the Region of Attica, in the Regional Unit of Sporades of the Region of Thessaly, in the Regional Unit of Thassos of the Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, on the island of Samothrace of the Regional Unit of Evros of the Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace and on the island of Ammouliani of the Regional Unit of Halkidiki of the Region of Central Macedonia. The above amount is set at 85 euros, if the beneficiary chooses to deposit in a bank account.
  2. 80 euros with the use of a digital debit card for eligible owners of vehicles other than motorcycles – mopeds, with main residence in the rest of Greece. The above amount is reduced to EUR 65 if the beneficiary chooses to deposit in a bank account.
  3. 70 euros with the use of a digital debit card for eligible owners of motorcycles - mopeds, with residence in the Regions of North Aegean, South Aegean, Ionian Islands, Crete, in the Regional Unit of Islands of the Region of Attica, in the Regional Unit of Sporades of the Region of Thessaly, in the Regional Unit of Thassos of the Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, on the island of Samothrace of the Regional Unit of Evros of the Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace and on the island of Ammouliani of the Regional Unit of Halkidiki of the Region of Central Macedonia. The above amount is reduced to EUR 55 if the beneficiary chooses to deposit in a bank account.
  4. 60 euros with the use of a digital debit card for eligible owners of motorcycles – mopeds, with main residence in the rest of Greece. The above amount is reduced to 45 euros, if the beneficiary chooses to deposit in a bank account.

Declaration of the vehicle

Each vehicle or motorcycle – moped can be declared by only one natural person, who has full ownership or co-ownership of the vehicle and the motorcycle – moped or is a lessee under a leasing contract. Each natural person can declare only one vehicle or motorcycle – moped.

A prerequisite is that the vehicle, motorcycle - moped is in circulation, is insured and no road tax is due for it.

What applies to the application of the Fuel Pass 2

The entry of the natural person-beneficiary in the special application, using the credential codes of the General Secretariat of Public Administration Information Systems (taxisnet), on the vouchers.gov.gr platform and will reuse the existing services of the Fuel Pass Program.

The applicant shall fill in and update its contact details and, in particular, its e-mail address and mobile phone number. He also fills in his personal bank account number.

For the purpose of verifying the conditions, the information system of the application draws information about the vehicle and motorcycle-moped and its owner using the following online services:

a) Vehicle details and profile of the holder from AADE,
b) Road Tax Data from AADE,
c) Finding vehicle insurance (Auxiliary Insurance Fund),
d) Income and residence data for the fuel subsidy by AADE, for the control of ownership of a private vehicle, motorcycle- moped, insurance, payment of road tax and the control of the declared family income,
e) Hellenic Police moped information.

Payments

The amount for Fuel Pass 2 is credited to either

(a) a digital debit card issued specifically for that purpose by a credit or financial institution;

(b) to a bank account of his/her choice.

The amount of money credited to the debit card may be used exclusively by the beneficiary to make a purchase of fuel and no transfer to a third party other than the above or its withdrawal is possible.

Don't forget

The digital debit card remains activated until 31/10/22, after which the credit or financial institution is immediately obliged to deactivate it.

The use of the digital debit card is carried out through a device, which supports contactless transaction technology (Web / Virtual POS).

So anyone who asks for the amount to be credited to an intangible digital card loses it if they do not have a suitable device to redeem it, which supports contactless remote payments (NFC).

The platform for Fuel Pass 2 starts accepting applications from 29/7/22 and closes on 29/8/22.
