The extension by four months of the deadline for the implementation of works in the second cycle of the energy upgrade programmes, Exoikonomisi kath' oikon II and Exoekonomo, announced the Ministry of Environment and Energy .

The extension was deemed necessary due to the consequences of the coronavirus pandemic and the measures taken in the previous period to limit its spread.

In particular, the decision provides that for applications that are at the stage of affiliation, the deadline for acceptance of the decision of inclusion and signing of the loan agreement (where required) expiring on 26/12/2021, is automatically extended until 25/4/22. Respectively, the deadline for the completion of the projects that expires on 31/12/21 is automatically extended until 30/4/22.

The decision shall take effect upon its publication in the Government Gazette.

Categories

Five categories energy-saving interventions in homes are subsidised under the new Energy Efficiency Programme.

This is the installation of frames / shading / ventilation systems, thermal insulation, hot water supply systems, heating / cooling systems and "smart" energy management systems.

The subsidised interventions in the Energy Efficiency programme

FRAMES/SHADING SYSTEMS/VENTILATION

• Aluminum, wood or PVC frames with glazing for window and exterior doors
• Glass panes only (No frame replacement for listed buildings and buildings within traditional settlements)
• Outer protective sheet (Box-Roll system, or Cover)
• Other fixed or mobile shading systems
• Mechanical Ventilation Systems with Heat Recovery

THERMAL INSULATION

• Thermal insulation of the roof outside
• Thermal insulation of a roof or horizontal roof under a non-heat-insulated roof
• Thermal insulation ext. masonry, load-bearing structure, floor on the ground on a pilot, or unheated space, coated with synthetic coating
• Thermal insulation masonry, load-bearing structure, cockpit floor or unheated space, coated with light screens

DOMESTIC HOT WATER SUPPLY SYSTEMS (DHW)

• Solar water heater system collector – storage reservoir DHW
• Solar thermal collector system – forced circulation storage reservoir
• Solar thermal system for the provision of DHW and space heating assistance
• Heat pump

HEATING/COOLING SYSTEMS

• Automatic control devices for the operation of a heating system
• Burner system – Natural Gas / LPG boiler
• A/Th system (Heating - Cooling / Minimum energy label requirement at 55oC)
• Geothermal heat pump system
• NATURAL GAS COGENERATION SYSTEM (CHP)
• Biomass boiler – wood pellet system)

Applications will be evaluated on the basis of energy, economic and social criteria while the aid rates will be escalated up to 75 % with the possibility of covering the rest through bank lending.
